Resurrection Morning (Revised) Sin was like a lion Death without defeat Suffering cruelly on the cross Christ seemed truly beat Death, it could not hold Him That securest cell Sin’s chains would not bind Him They had bound us well Slippery on Him was their grip That had bound us tight Weakness ours because of sin Righteousness His might Yes, the clouds looked dark that day Dark as darkest night Terror ruled with Hell one day Till the burst of Light! Resurrection Morning Sabbath rest is done Hearing what had happened Disciples start to run Racing, speedily, to the tomb With wonder, sweetest awe Nothing in their lives like this What was this they saw? Yes, the tomb was empty Grave cloths just a shell Yes, their Friend-Lord, they believe Had defeated Hell Finally, when they see Him They no longer fear He is risen from the dead! Dread darkness disappears Sin’s confusions they abound! Around us still today Darkness, it does us surround! How can we find a way? Not found in dearest husband/wife Nor found in dearest friend Not found in our self-righteousness works How quickly these do end! Not found in money Nor in power Nor in any earthly thing Our Light is found in Christ alone His Sweetest Name we sing! For Resurrection Morning Is about the life He gives ... For Jesus is the Light of Life! Rejoice, because He lives! |
