The Moment

I tighten a rope around my heart as I attempt to remain standing. I feel the clock tick through my veins and the hands of time cover my mouth and drown me with despair. My grief has given birth to this moment, which will live in every Sliver of my memory.   I am knocked to the ground by the crashing waves of my tears, As I realize you have left me to face the storm without you. I stumble over my sanity as you slip into eternal slumber. I implore Morpheus to stir you from your dream  and howl like a starving wolf. but it merely tickles deaf ears. I surrender to mortality’s will and realize I am powerless. I have been wounded by the moment, but the scars won't show- on the surface of time.
