Elemental Power

If Time sought out its sister, it would find naught but Change But Change circles on herself and with Time becomes the same If Infinity searched its limits, it would find Emptiness Emptiness leads always on through haunting and loneliness If Light invaded Blackness to fill space with its flame It would cast a titan shadow and in Blackness dwell again      Breaking through where thoughts are true       Requires a determined extension      Racing to find another kind      Involves a different dimension      “Where, oh where, does the treasure hide?        Can it always slip away?”      My child, the treasure is everywhere, but always dwells inside. If Gravity pulled all to itself to gain complete control It would find that it was trapped beneath and release to find its soul If Heat were to sear its way through matter in its place It would destroy itself by meeting the iciness of space Despite their regal splendor and fundamental right These overlords of wonder lay fettered in their might For elements of the universe don’t stray beyond their means Neither do they feel the lure of chasing after dreams. But past the crowded playground Kurosawa’s creative might Over Machu Picchu And Franklin’s dancing kite Up Crick and Watson’s staircase  Toward Hawkings’ lightless sky Curie’s peering pictures Antares’ sanguine eye There is no place forbidden No melody’s refrain Beyond the fulgent scepter Of Imagination’s reign.
