Locked Out

One of the most painful facts of life Is that wisdom comes with age Which becomes so clearly evident Upon reflection of each stage Life is holding all the keys We gather one by one While passing through the doors of time We pick them up and run Each key unlocks a secret And opens up the mind To reveal to us a lesson From the door we left behind And the painful part of learning Is that the key that fits the door Is for a lock that's on the other side And closed forevermore
