Words

Words like daggers pierce the heart, The scars they never heal. Once spoken they can’t be taken back, Nor the anger that’s revealed. More powerful than all the energy used each and every day, Are the sounds of voice and meanings shared in everything we say. Communication is what it takes for all the world to flourish, Misintent in words we use our minds are under nourished. Think before you speak should be the golden rule, Children’s words cut to the bone, ill effects so cruel. In teaching language we forget the most important things, The words we’re taught show all emotion attached to many strings. A simple song can make us cry, pulling feelings to the surface. Spiritual words can speak to us, illuminating our purpose. Tone of voice accenting words giving them new meaning, Shining bright to pick you up emotionally you’re gleaming. Manipulation of these words to create is but a gift, So I give to you a piece of me for it is all that I have left.
