Love's Dark Harvest

Dark shadows search distant memories for yesterday's tears. As they dance to fear pulsed rhythms, they seek dreams deferred for love's softer embrace. But feathers don't float in the vacuum of sheltered hearts, and hope loses faith in the dreams of the weary. What becomes of the coins a fountain rejects? or Does the depth of the well decide the fate of the wish? When all that remains is the settling dust, and the fields of remembrance yield harvests of pain, then the poet's heart wilts and the dance is the dream. Let the angels once held fuel the devil's discord. Though the scythe may be swift the song still remains.
