Ode to Summer

Summertime is drawing near                                      a season welcomed once a year                                      to lift our spirits to the heights                                    & languor through its magic nights                                    We venture forth out of our shells                                    for like the flowers we see ourselves                                  as things that bloom in summer's glow                                     while gentle breezes softly blow.                                    Oh yes...we love sweet summertime                                 when thoughts & moods become sublime                                      & we respond to summer's call                                      until it wanes to bring the fall.
