Friday's blind date

Smiling irrepressibly, my reflection In the mirror is electric with excitement. The evening has been mythical. Magical. Sleeping fitfully, Saturday awakens With whispers of anticipation -- Will there be a phone call, a second date? Evening plans established, I anxiously wait-- Spellbound by hope and haunted with disbelief. His hello hug instinctively makes a promise; Generous fun and gentle conversation Mesmerize the night into Sunday morning. By 4 a.m. I trade enchantment for some sleep. Sunday afternoon revives the congenial quest. Thrilled and frightened by this rapid relationship I risk the belief it is a veritable match. By some extraordinary set of circumstances The blue moon in the August evening sky Inaugurates our couplehood and salutes our single soul.
