Alzheimer's

He was meant for adventure from the day of his birth in nineteen and double ought the years seemed to travel fast as one would fly, the more speed they caught He served in the first World War from the age of seventeen to twenty one decorated He went home to build dreams in the Georgia sun It seemed that military life was now somehow in his veins at twenty five He went on back for twenty more years he would remain another big battle he would see but as the leader of many men He served on land and by sea time, and time again The years did roll, old age had come weak vision, and soon memories lost but somehow he remembered the soldiers and how they had paid the ultimate cost He did not know their names per say just that many fell He now just motioned and smiled within' his empty shell For this dreaded thing it robs it steals dreams, memories and past thrills eventually as the stages progress it soon finds a way to kill So as you look at him remember the many things he use to know take his hand and help him now for soon he to will go.
