Jungle City

Darkness to some is a welcomed best friend as by night they can make their escape. The law of man's jungle..for yourself you must fend trust could be your last fatal mistake. Humanity preys on the weak & the old Jungle law..... the fittest survives. a shot in the dark starts the scene to unfold as a helpless old man slowly dies. A burglar in black scales the wall in his stealth only seen by the moon's faulty light. Then quickly is gone with his ill-gotten wealth for you see..... he's that 'thief in the night.' The city's a jungle we cry in despair everyone that we meet is so rude and we fall ever short when to beast we're compared unlike man.... they hunt only for food!!!

Additional Notes:
OK !!! Here we go !! You may remember that i mentioned in an earlier submission that the next few poems will be on the 'dark' side. I wrote these poems when our family was devastated by a tragic event that I wish to remain undisclosed. I want to also point out that these poems do NOT reflect my outlook on life (anymore)..but when I WROTE them, they most certainly did !! At least I can read them now without too much pain in my heart. Its more like a dull ache now..like a headache that is annoying but tolerable !! I won't say enjoy.. just try to understand that what you read here & in the next 2 or 3 poems ARE filled with anger..hate..even rage.. but they helped me in the long run... they provided me an outlet that caused no one ELSE pain & i am glad of THAT !! William G.
