Sins of the Father

Sins of the father lay yet unatoned as he forces his will to obey. His sand in the hourglass has been all but spent now the son his last debt must repay. He held none at all in his highest esteem for his failures all others he blamed. And his son walks in footsteps that he had once trod so like father..the son's path's the same. The path to destruction is strewn with regrets on the wayside you'll find bitter tears. But with rigid resolve the son blindly walks on as the father taught well through the years. Until the son comes to a fork in the road and he can't tell which way to proceed. Yet he sees through his tears father's footsteps once more and as always he takes father's lead. He could have drawn 'way from his father's past sins but his influence is deeply ingrained. And as history teaches, he made same mistakes as he carries his burden of pain. So the road gets well trodden from deeds of the past yet remains when his long journey's done. For there's many more bound to this long lonely road and one surely will be the son's son!!

Additional Notes:
I wont bore you with the details I made in the comment sections of my poems Just as I Am, & Jungle City... This is just another reminder that the anger & hurt you can so readily read in these verses & that FORCED me to write them have all but dissipated. (thank our benevolent God!!)
