Politicians

Politicians 'tail' the shaky scale of evolution, we speak their names with nothing but disgust. They always fail to come up with a viable solution to the many troubles faced by most of us. They sweat each time they think of their possible ejection from the offices they hold so very dear. That's why you'll hear them lying when they're faced with an election as they tell us things they think we want to hear. I wish for once we'd find someone who's not a weeping willow, who'd refuse to bend to popularity. Then when winds of politics begin to gather force & billow, he'd stand tall just like a stately old oak tree. But don't dare to dream..you'll only wake to stark reality, for that's one dream that we'll never realize. For they won't relent until they've brought us down upon our knees begging for our slice of economic pie. They tell us we must keep in-check our country's wild inflation yet they give each other raises on the side. But they need the money for the costly price of litigation, they'll incur in court for taking that huge bribe. And although they make good money at their wages they all scoff 'cause these men & women have more needs than most. Just a bunch of fattened piggies goughing at the public trough, its no comfort knowing we're their humble hosts. But that's alright.... for now we'll let them eat the public's fodder 'cause their retribution's coming very soon. This election year we'll lead the little piggies to the slaughter while extracting from each mouth a silver spoon!!            Copyright Writer's Soapbox 1999. Additional Notes:
I wrote this with HALF tongue in cheek...lol i say that because i don't trust politicians but i tried to convey what most people think of them with a hint of humour For those of you who are sticklers on spelling, humour is OUR way to spell it...LOL "Our" being we Canucks :) William G.
