Unwanted

Tiny feet rustle in the yellow leaves of fall, Little ears listen for the morning song bird call. Bright shining eyes glisten in the noon day sun, All our children growing and having fun. Solid as the oak tree they grow and seek, Voices emerge as they begin to speak. Walk with surety and standing tall, They begin to weaken and suddenly fall. No more do their feet rustle in the leaves of fall, Hearing impaired, what happened to the song bird's call? Eyes no longer glisten through the salty tears, Slurred speech, Hard to express their fears. Once they were growing, strong, everything to gain, Without any warning, a life transformed to pain. Vision failing, muscles tremor, things lost we cherish most, This disease ,"MS", lurks in the shadow like a ghost.
