Fish Do-o-z-z-z-e

your air is clean and wet mine is polluted,  yet We both seen to have survived And being thankful we're alive we enjoy each others company at least, I think you enjoy me From the oceans depth and gloom you've come to live in a tiny room swimming to and fro you're always on the go didn't you ever sleep in the churning of the deep when my day is done there's the sinking of the sun and my chair cushions me as I watch you swim in your man made sea relaxing my stress, somehow you  make me feel like I'm floating too Drifting on an imaginary sea I slip into a state of tranquility later I strain from my sunken chair Glancing at you still swimming there I reach up to turn out your light and tell you a fish owners goodnight I just know I saw you wave a fin at me from your glass cave while my mind drifts in needed sleep I know a night long vigil you'll keep and you'll probably swim miles before dawns early light creeps in your door ©   1972   Donna Friedrichs
