Miracles

I have been in league with sometime devils I have walked the stars with untarnished angels Pioneering being a thing of the past There are fewer unpaved roads Than I would like to imagine The pear trees blossom At times in winter But few see and  Less than that marvel Forever plagued by contradictory histories of uncomplicated people I've watched saviors come and go In a constant stream of crucifixion The unleavened bread rises Starlight splinters and the world turns brown When seen through the eyes of prophets Who have yet to die Even once
