Love of a Captain

He sits in melancholy display dim lit quarters prove sanctuary memories roll the silent play seduces the heart grown weary Pipe in hand... a face etched with wisdom knowledge of the sea takes it toll Smoke ring frames capture a vision of a heart in contempt of a salt water soul A sailor lives not by lands measure but in time with the sea for her rhythmic breath does linger in summons of a sailors destiny Torn is the heart at hand when one love betwixt the other his soul stirs restless upon land the sea stirs memories of a lover Beached by the heart held captive to the swells of desire he succumbs as a restless sea pardons the captain in drift to a lover's return.
