"Gossip" Ihave no respect for justice, for without it I can thrive. I am cunning and malicious, at breaking hearts and telling lies. The more that I am quoted, the more I am believed, with little or no reflection, friends and family are decieved. My victims are all helpless, can't protect themselves from me, for I am more of what they hear, and less of what they see. To track me down is very hard, I truly am elusive, folks tend to help me get around, to them I am exclusive. I've toppled Governments, wrecked marriages, put innocence to shame, for reputations once destroyed, are never quite the same. I don't need a weapon, such as a gun or knife, for by my word alone, I can cause much pain and strife. I work at every level of society, as those who pass my word along, give greater strength to me. My name is gossip, when you speak to others, I find my way, and should you wish to destroy me, then don't pass what others say. |
Additional Notes:
I wrote this, being Inspired by a few gossipers in my own family, who nearly
tore my life apart a few times.
