CASTING OUT SHADOWS

I walked in the light until dark shadows were cast, I walked in the light but the light didn't last, Brightness gradually disappeared into gray.  In the fog of it all, I stumbled to fall And I realized I'd just lost my way. I walked in the gray, my feet strayed from the path, Remorse gouging into my soul's aftermath, But the shadows still followed and hounded,                 You see, Until I found out the "shadows" were actually me. I confessed all my sins and asked God to forgive, I know walking in gray is not walking to live. As I atone, the shadows recede,  I must get back to the light Where only God leads and is right. I lost my soul, but found it once more, Escaped from the shadows of darkness I bore, Will follow the light past temptation, my plight,  Until only God's glory once again is in sight, Casting out shadows each day and each night.
