Release

    I. His breath is the breeze stealing leaves from painted trees  And his hands dip into waters gripping them with ice  and halting rivers at their source.  Then He soars into the sky and laughs at how small the earth really is from the heavens as he blankets it with snow.        II. Wild spirit of the woods Wanton and crafty With bristling hair Budding horns Goat’s ears a tail and hooves Frolicking in the forest wind Chasing nymphs and Playing impish tricks on men The satyr never sleeps Forever dancing  around and around Running free Where others bound…                III. A trembling leaf clings  to a feeble oak  fighting the furious wind. The tree may fall  to answer Time’s call yet the leaf  might slowly descend D    O       W          N to the earth or ascend with the spiral of Beauty’s whirlwind.               IV. Lovers stray From sunlit paths Beneath the shelter Of painted oaks As leaves drift down Like confetti And the breeze  Kisses an audience Of covered branches Trembling limbs Where the wind  Passes over Undressing them  With natural ease Applause

Additional Notes:
These poems are separate - yes - written for different reasons but they make up what I have so far of a long poem called "Release". Thier styles and structures are quite different in that one may rhyme and the other may not and also the images are very different for both. Anyway - hope you like these.
