LOST SPLENDOR The carefully built facade crumbled, Stripping away reams of lavish display Now, only a plot remained, Where an illustrious house once stood. The make-believe ambiance vanished, Revealing empty rooms and naked walls Now, only ghosts repose, Where splendor once prevailed. The magnificent raiment fell, Exposing wounds of self-abuse Now, only a few recalled, Where a brilliant mind once dwelled. |
