The Board's Prayer

Our father, who art held aloft By the volume of Our phrase, We come to claim your hollow name And impress you with Our praise. That your will, much like Mine, be done Has chances quite remote. We're checking on "your kingdom come." (The Committee has to vote!) To bother you with daily bread Is paltry task indeed. I've got it taken care of here; You've other mouths to feed. As to that "forgiveness" bit--- It's quite a helpful plan To soothe our guilty feelings To get along with fellow Man. When I stroll into temptation, Your protection I'll receive If I drag you down the path I take And "radically believe." It's good to have friends in high places In the hard times and in strife. So since, as king, you'll need some power, I'll make you Lord of all My life.
