THE LABYRINTH Lord, keep me on the straight and narrow Though there may be many curves ahead, Lead me on your path of sorrow To Jerusalem. The rooster crows each new tomorrow Blue chicory, white Queen Anne's lace line rows Of the labyrinth I follow To Jerusalem. Fluttering spirit-like wings of the butterfly, Brilliant sun in the sky so high As we gaze at the lake nearby on our way To Jerusalem. The peace I feel personifies The love of God I cannot hide As I walk along His way To Jerusalem. I meditate and then I pray I'll see Him in each person I see And love them all the way To Jerusalem. The garden of life has sunflowers and weeds But everything flourishes with His Seed If we follow the labyrinth To Jerusalem. |
Additional Notes:
I use "we" because I created this poem while my 92 year old friend and I
walked an outdoor labyrinth. "Jerusalem" is the center of the labyrinth.
