Pelicans

Flying now high over me Beyond the salty shore, Their shadows stain a swooping "V" Upon the tossing floor. When SWISH! one of them breaks ranks And slices through the air DOWN to the giant Dinner Tank At speeds that few would dare. Then rising from the ocean bare, He rockets to the sky To strut his catch and then to air His dripping feathers dry.
