Santa And Me

When I was a little child I sat on Santa's knee Hugging me as he smiled Frightened as I could be. Mama told me not to cry Just look at him and laugh I told the fat and jolly guy Please cut my time in half. Daddy took me by the hand I tightly gripped Dad's leg  He put me on the floor to stand Please hold me! I would beg. Santa's holding someone new Who does not mind at all A little girl with eyes so blue With fun, I recall. By then I changed my mind I thought it would be neat If Rudolph came around to find Me sitting at Santa's feet. I sat upon his lap once more With laughter now to share All the children on the floor Think I'm not being fair. Mom and Dad took me away So other children could see Happiness now on display Since Santa talked to me. Leaving Santa I turned around With Mom and Dad walking slow Waving to him as I frowned Then spotted a big red glow. It was Santa's famous deer Who had a shiny nose Rudolph is the one so dear To Santa everyone knows. Daddy asked me if I'd care To have my picture made Rudolph, Santa and I will share   A photo in the Christmas parade. Rudolph came leading the way Eight reindeer followed behind Finally finishing a long hard day Now time for them to unwind. I asked Santa to join me And Rudolph for a smile For this could really be A picture well worthwhile. Mom and Dad are making fun Of this story I love to hear When I was just a little one With Santa and his deer. Reliving memories of long ago When I was just a tot Thinking I was scared, although The truth is....., I was not! If you want a chance to see Dear Santa hold you twice Just act a little bit like me Yes, it was truly nice. Moms and dads now check to see If the kids are being true About the time wanting to be Spent with Santa Claus and you. Santa Claus I love you And hope you love me too!
