She Waits She waits outside the castle wall for the first glimse of his face The night air has begun to chill but she will not leave her place She dreams of him as she slumbers crouched down against the stone Her knight atop a black stallion the only true love she has known In the moonlight an owl screeches creatures of night scurry about Steadfast she sits still longing he will return, she has no doubt The light of a new day is dawning she awakens to sounds of his voice He is calling to her from a distance her heart begins beating in rejoice Together they embrace on the hillside their kiss as passionate as the last Hand in hand they enter the castle his days of fighting now in the past In his battles he has been triumphant for her spirit has protected his life Standing with words of love and honor a promise of forever, she becomes his wife |
