The New Year

There's totally a new beginning When we start a brand new year We make New Year's resolutions And send to all good cheer. I sit alone in my bedroom to think Of something I'd like to change Many new thoughts come to mind In an alphabetical, A to Z range. Thinking of my family and friends I want to treat them warm and kind. Looking back in my past year's journal Love for each one is what I find. It seems to me I always make A brand new promise each year. If only I could make the changes Of the season with a little cheer.  The days are passing faster As the years move right on by I'll try to be a much loved person Before God takes me away on High. Amazing how my life has changed, Since my days of frills and lace. Chances are now better for me, 'Cause I believe in God's good grace. Time moves swiftly, it's out of our hands Here's something that everyone controls How we stand with the Lord today, Is He really in our hearts and souls? I wish you a safe and happy New Year, As the present year of 2000 ends, Keeping my faith to live the right way When this brand new year begins.
