The Torch Carrier

They carried the torch in earnest, believeing in what they had heard. They passed it on while adding,  their own version of the unspoken word. They gripped the torch with eagerness taking in more than was passed. Not trying to find an answer to the questions that were left unasked. The torch was given to all that cared or dared to partake, singeing, burning, leaving nothing but hot coals to be fanned or raked. The end result was astounding as friendships and families were torn apart. The moral of this story is gossip should not be taken to heart. So as you hear the messenger, take only what you know to be true. But do not pass it on my friend,  if it doesn't concern you.
