11:57 P M

It's 11:57 and we're here So late in time,  Infants sublime, It's very queer At 12 AM, so big a bang, Heaven's expand We wait so long for yin and yang, To understand The planets form, some far, some near Then comes the storm and atmosphere It's only 2, and yet it feels like 3 or 4 Then signs of life, a miracle The start of strife, the seas are full But still the sun has yet to rise, and wait, there's more From one cell, we go to two, and then to four We split again, first there were few, then there were more At 1 o'clock, we find the fishes, simply swimming in the sea Society forms, it can be vicious, as it is today, you see But then we're coming on the land, to lay our eggs Those salamanders had a hand, in growth of legs We're reptilian as can be, for quite a time And still it's only 2 or 3, the sun does shine We lay in wait, away from giants, we mammalian counterparts We're very good at self reliance, as we wait to play our parts The giants leave, and still for reasons we don't know We ask no questions, fill the void, and start to grow The reptiles stay, in smaller size The birds they made, don't sympathize In fact, they flourish and they thrive, the mammals too Those little lemurs did not know From them the bears and apes would flow Brain size increases, tempers grow, and then came you You're not tested Mr. man You don't even know the plan You know not what you say, you know not what you do You're in first grade, and you are failing The water's high, just keep on bailing Study more, become more humble, or your through You're very tall, you're very tan You know it all, you are a man Some think whatever place you're from, it must be heaven But time will tell, you're very new You're babes in time, you have no clue After all, it's just 11:57

Additional Notes:
Dear Reader: I take all time, and compress this into one 24 hour day. Thus, one days would equal about 4 billion years. I also use poetic license regarding the times of day. Technically, these times are askew, except for the time that humans appear; about three minutes before the end of a 24 hour day. This is not a science project, just a poem.
