If I told you

Were you honest when you said I never talk about anything serious? You know it isn't true, I just don't talk about anything serious between me and you. If I did, would it change things? Make you happy?  Make you feel I was yours? If I told you sometimes I lose myself when I'm in your arms? If I told you that I tremble  with excitement at your touch? You are my first and last thought of each day and when I think of you I always smile. Were you honest when you said I only like you because you're kind to me? Is that so small a thing, that you value it so little? Would it change things, if I told you how different that makes you from every man I've ever known? If I told you that's not the only reason? Were you honest when you said you loved me, or was it a band-aid to stop the tears coursing down my cheeks? Now inside me you repeat it sometimes and because I respond with my eyes instead of words you find me lacking something essential and continue searching for something I cannot give. If I told you, would it change things?

Additional Notes:
Line-breaks purely arbitrary...for clarity of thought rather than rhythm. I haven't posted in quite some time so if you can guess who I am I'll be most impressed.
