My Needs

I see the depth of your concern Although you try to disguise it The love in my heart for you Knows you, and pulls away your mask I feel the warmth of your desire To make life easier for me  And I need you to know That each gesture  No matter how small Is a pillow for my aching body And a lift for my sinking spirit I cannot tell you what I need Although you ask with resolve For I myself am unsure As in this game of life The rules are continually changing All I can say to you Is what is stored in my heart To help me, be next to me Hold my hand,  and look into my eyes Don’t try so hard to understand For there are times  That knowing doesn’t matter And it will never change things I do not need a guide On a journey where there is no map to follow But, I do need a companion Someone to be along side of me Enjoying the good moments When they are here And sharing my pain when  The bad times come along That is what is important That is all I need Just to have you. That is all.
