WE ARE WHAT WE THINK

Happiness lies within your thoughts Knowing this may help guide your way Rarely is such a principal taught And we miss pieces of mind every day You are not what you eat - though the icing is sweet Hurt and sorrow repeat - you're still sad You are but what you think - from your thoughts take a drink Positive thinking's the link - to feel glad Sure our troubles are real - and our pains we do feel To our dens, we still steal - to reflect But we've hopes and we've dreams - and when hopeless it seems Through the clouds, see the beams - introspect I'm not trying to say You'll feel good every day Sure you'll mope But you'll cope With some hope, mid the fray There are reasons for blue Even black, that is true But neath fright With insight There's some white around you. To believe it will change - gets us through blackest night Just some hope on the range - is a step towards the light So you are what you think - yes you've pain, but know this As your cup fills, you'll drink - and have moments of bliss

Additional Notes:
Reader; These words have been of immeasurable "help" to me and my psyche. My greatest asset may well be my "positive thinking". This poem is an example of how I am able to build myself up, when I am down. The miracle for me, is that these words simply flow from me, then I read them, then i feel better.
