Stepfather to Stepsons

I was so proud of both of you as I sadly watched you leave, you thought I really didn't care but Lord knows that I did greive to see your mothers saddened heart so filled with great dispair to think that she would lose for good the sons she came to bare. Do you not know it was for you, the sacrifice she made who once were just two tiny babes wherein her arms you laid. did you forget so easy of the tears and of the pain for each  mistake you ever made her poor heart bore the strain. I want you to think for a moment or so, open your heart just a bit the key word is love and theres never a price for it. I know you think theres plenty of time to make up for things that you've done but what would you do if word came today that your mother God bless her was gone. Would you blame her for leaving your dad whom she felt mistreated her so or would you be men and remember it was your decision to go. I hope the question will never arise, that you grow strong and just in lifes race for someday we'll all stand in truth before God just we and God face to face. And I hope then you'll see boys what your mom did  when she made that great sacrifice the answers not easy but the word of God shows it was what made Soloman wise.

Additional Notes:
I wrote this to my two stepsons when they left in their teens, they havn't seen their mother since. I sent this poem to them hoping they might find some compassion for her, but they never did. I hope someday they might get to see her before something happens, God only knows her pain.
