On a Beautiful Day

The sun shines brightly, As the breeze blows gently, On a warm summer day. In the park across the street Parents’ chat and children play. Life couldn’t be better. I sit alone gazing out the window, My thoughts wandering slowly away. One minute, There’s nothing better than being alive. The next, Death is a welcome friend. With outstretched arms I cry out, Make it stop! I don’t want to feel this way! Confused, angry, frustrated, bitter, Miserably sad and utterly alone. I don’t always know what’s right, But these feelings are not. I want to be like the children outside. I want to enjoy life. Tears stream down my face. I wish the breeze would take them away. I wish that it would rain to wash away my fears. I wish the peace inside me would show its face. I wish that I could carry on. This may be a lot to ask for. Maybe I don’t deserve it. That’s fine. Then let me be. But don’t let anyone care. Just let me be one less person, To give a shit about life!
