IN SEARCH OF KNOWLEDGE

In the beginning    There was nothing    Then the Lord said                   Let there be light                              There was still nothing                              But now you could see it    (Then came the seas) Oh, the sea! Oh, the sea! Oh, the beautiful sea; Full of pleasure and treasure adorning. What's beneath all that beauty and tranquility? Danger and mystery precipitate warning. Googols of fish, their bodies in motion; Slither in grime, as they search for their prey. Can we but know what lies 'neath the ocean? I pray to God, we may 'neer see the day. For what started as fish, is today all mankind. With just one desire, to rule and to tame. That one celled amoeba, could never have known, That it is the guilty, the one we should blame. So this is the type of being below. And if we fulfill our fruition; All of mankind, cruel and so shallow; Will suddenly have competition!

Additional Notes:
Dear Readers: I am having the most wonderful time on the poetic link. I first discovered the poet in me, when I was 15 years of age; and I wrote the following poem. I had no idea where this came from. I only knew it was "special". This poem is very close to the way it was written. There is just a slight amount of editing; such as the title and word googols. This was also the first realization of my lifetime avocation, paleontology (evolution). The opening I show, was a thought that once came to me, many, many years later.
