A Fairies Choir

The rain was falling before  and it sang in the background as it all happened. In the middle of wet kisses and smearing skin, I tasted all of him as I wanted to taste him all. Then a bullet shot in his head; collision inside thoughts and memories. My face fell to the floor and crawled under to find shade, trying to believe the feeling that he had just pushed me off. His eyes slammed me against the wall and they stopped holding my reflection. We both ran from each other in a nap dream escape; hushed in sweet Charlotte's hair. Now I have woken, listening to the rain falling again. Feeling a bit strange about the actuality that has just happened, thinking my touch scares him, looking at the gate around him, wondering if it was me that pulled the trigger, feeling the flesh around my pulse seep between bars to him; then I hear fairies singing a choir and think less. Safe. But now he is in the corner of the bed, his head between his legs.  Looking for something to say that doesn't sound frightening. The silence says everything. It's in the silence that I hear the fairies.
