THREE YEARS IN A BOX

I put the lid on tight, A box of old delight, And stashed it in the closet, Whispered, "Goodbye, that does it." Three years of sweet memories, Letters you sent to please, Three years of fun filled days, Dried flowers pressed all ways. I cherished all the love notes Kept in the box that totes Stuffed animal gifts from you And pictures we both too, too. I'm ready to leave you now, I'll forget you, I know, somehow, Our love has no regrets Though it was as good as it gets. Three years of life in a box, Years our hearts were locked, In love with you so long, Now I must move along.
