The Writer's Stew

Below, you will find a recipe            that can stir the hearts of men,           The two basic ingredients are               a writer and his pen.           You must make sure that you follow           the directions exactly right,           For if you don't,you might find yourself           awake far into the night!           First, find a great big tablet           with lines that number twenty-four.           Then, find a soft chair or sofa           and quietly close the door.           Next, turn on your favorite music,           It can be any style you please.           As the words fall on the paper,           Search for those that flow with ease.           Add to this a thought about the readers           you will serve on your writer's tray,           The words you use are the spices that            should add a great flavor to their day!           Then, stir all this together with two big           spoons of love and prayer,           Then, place it in the computer.           It should heat comfortably in there!           The last step, I think, is the most            important one of all,           What you now see on the screen,           transfer to the printer by the wall.           Finally, let all of this simmer slowly           for a portion of the day,           When, in your heart, you know it's ready,           You can send it on it's way.           If it is served correctly people will be           amazed time and time again,           That the sweet taste their souls enjoyed--           all started with the simple stroke. . .               of a writer and his pen!
