The Release

Oh! So close to you was I; Though no longer can I stay, To lose myself within your eyes, For on my heart this does weigh. With my arms I must let go, And let you fly into the night. All I see, a little glow; A lovely bird, my guiding light. Oh! So close to you was I; Though no longer can I stay, To lose myself within your eyes, For on my heart this does weigh. Off you dart into the black, You beat your wings so easily, But not without a certain track,  As I stumble feebly. Oh! So close to you was I; Though no longer can I stay, To lose myself within your eyes, For on my heart this does weigh. Your blue eyes, your brown hair; On what I ask of you I do depend; That when I fall you’ll be there; And be at least this: my friend.
