A Letter To A Whisper

I've heard you say those words before, those whispers in the dark. I've tendered all those thoughts and yes, I wouldn't go as far. To say that for the price we pay, things will just get better, Would be a premonition falsely, penned within this letter. For hidden in the closet here, amongst your tattered shoes. Are all the secrets of a life, led in blank abuse. I've reached beyond the mildewed walls, of this cabin in my head. I've walked along the beaten paths, of things we should have said. Now sitting in my make-shift chair, I dream of days gone by. And whispers of you in the dark, always make me cry.
