Melancholy

i'm not as happy as i could be, i'm not as happy as i should be, i'm not as happy as you want me to be, but that's o.k. with me. i'm really not that kind of friend, i'm not the man you thought i am, i'm just a vision of something good that you once planned. please let me go, i can't stand strong. this ain't my home, this is not where i belong. please let me down, i have to go. i can't stay long, we both know so. i'm not as honest as you think i am, you weren't honest in the first place. i would've lived a lie and tried to die, to win that smile on your face. to be as happy as i could be.

Additional Notes:
i offer the reader the feeling of being in a place where you know deep down you don't belong. it also brings to life the struggle of realizing that even though you're not as happy as you could be, life goes on...
