Invaded

For years you were so healthy almost invincible in your strength helping me along the way when sickness invaded my being But that was long ago before the interlopers invaded you sapping you of vitality making you weak and frail I look at you with different eyes now and see a fragile human being suffering and in pain a mere shadow of yourself You have been invaded by an unseen enemy who refuses to leave until it claims you for itself It is only a matter of time until they claim their prize leaving me to fight alone until I too am claimed by them
