My Sailor

Somewhere out there upon the deep blue sea So far away from sandy shores, my sailor thinks of me. Under skys with stars so bright, so dark in black of night. Or sometimes clouds are passing by, along with birds in flight. At times the winds are whisking by, the waves are crashing high. The ship he sails is tossing about, the lightening bolts dart by. I wonder what he's doing, I wonder where he's been? I pray each night it won't be long, until he's home again. Sometimes I stare up in the sky and can't help wonder too. If he is looking at the moon, the same time that I do. I close my eyes and make a wish and hope that he will know. How very much he means to me, and how I love him so. I guess you have to understand, how much he loves the sea. But when he's home and by my side, his love will be for me. And so i'll wait for his return, while on the sea he sails. Through sunny days, through wind and rain, through calmness and through gails. At night i'll wish upon a star, that he will always be. Safe and warm and filled with love, my sailor on the sea
