Pinnacle of Pulse

Jasmine and honeysuckle wafting through the air Your velvet footsteps  touching down upon the stair I can still smell you within my pores and taste your kisses upon my tongue Notes falling gently upon the sheets- Scraps of leftover melodies we’ve sung You’ve tumbled headlong into the rapturous depths of me The static of the flesh- Rippling waves of passion’s sea Free falling into insistent, then dizzy high upon the pinnacle of pulse Within an enchanted brush of eyes, lie two souls blind to all else Lingering here in pungent memory- Heavily laced with musk You crawl back in with me, savoring the flavor of desires dusk.
