One of Seven

One in seven She loves us all One in seven she raised us all Left with seven After Dad's fall After we marched  On that late August day The priest; He said Your father is dead Two of seven You must stand tall She shook and trembled And whimpered past fall One in seven His death changed us all Two years went by And I still hear her cry Late into the night Beseeching God why The blanket of night Haunted her endless We cried and wept And battled our senses One in seven I remember her pain Was it God's grace Or seven little reasons That she came  To pick up the pieces I remember the demons That tortured our nights She wrestled and fought We laid there in thought Our father now dead To be in heaven I was just one Just one of seven
