Hope for Tomorrow

Ten thousand mothers praying, for the future of their children; We know where it started, but where will it end? Death and starvation lies in wait around every corner, A young girl is dying with no one there to mourn her. Self-preservation is the goal of the world, No one will shed a tear for one dying little girl. Few see the road to our future is narrow, And even fewer see that our destiny is in peril. Some hate their fellow humans for their color of their skin, Others hate them for the religions they are in. Our ways we must mend, there is no room for harm in our lives, We must toss away our hatred and destroy our guns and knives. This world is not ours to do with as we will, For every debt that we make our children must pay the bill. Let us right all our wrongs, and change the path that we take, Our childrens future will reflect the decisions that we make!

Additional Notes:
The intention of this poem should be self obvious but let me explain certain points. The main theme of this poem is to give every person the reminder that we are not the only ones living here nor are we the last. We have the responsibility to preserve all things great and good for future generations.
