Ruby

She sat next to me on her mother’s lap. In her eyes, sparkling, brown and clear I could see her heart—it was the most pure, the most innocent heart I have ever seen. On the outside her shirt had OJ stains and chip crumbs; her face had a juice mustache. Her hair was messy from her recent nap, but she still looked like an angel. Her smile made even the bitterest person smile. It was an irresistible, cherub-like smile. You could tell she was not a problem child, her mother did not look frustrated or stressed, but she had a bright, lighthearted smile as well. No, this child would grow into a beautiful person on the inside if not the outside as well.
