The Chains

Linked together with crystal chains we sit beneath torrential reigns as fire from heaven ignites the sky and voices from below it cry but soon they fade so none can hear yet even the blind can see the tear that rips down the people's face leaving a trail, a blood-red trace. The chains they link each of us the chains are fair, the chains are just the chains provide security we're locked in chains to keep us free 'cause when blood turns to water and water to dust silver to iron and iron to rust the rust returns to crystal chain that bounds us 'neath torrential reigns.
