Snowfall

Last evening,  I sat both observer and historian, and watched legion upon legion of snowflakes descend on this "City of Big Shoulders." First silencing the rumbling of railroads, and the chatter of air hammers, then bringing to a halt millions of Henry Ford's Finest The masses cursed the sky, but all to no avail. For snowflakes only speak to children and poets, softly whispering; "We've only a short time. Can you come out and play?"
