A Walk In The Desert

Lying out among the rocks On starlit Desert nights, As far as we can get away From busy city lights. The air takes on the wonderous smell Of freshly fallen rain... As it changes all the colors of The Desert's spring terrain. To see the Yucca's blooms arise From leaves that look like swords... While hummingbirds, like airborne jewels, Gather up their sweet rewards. Hear the rythmic chants of Ancestors Echo in the canyon halls... As they teach us of our history, By writings on the walls. The Desert's haunting melody Is flowing on the breeze... Reminding us of who we are, And how to "Walk In Peace."
