In the absence
Itís a low pitch hum barely audible to most that resonates in my brain My body spasms all of a sudden Iím not moving. And then...they hit me... frightening and more than occasionally over-dramatized perspectives of this situation... this existence. Media pumping me up with tragedy and comedy. Kung-fu kicking my skull. Pang! Left in a haze and numb. With all the reported killings, mass murder, war and terror, I sit in a confounded daze. Staring like a middle aged burnout at the images flashed before my fidgeting retina... thatís just the tip of the ice burg. There are also socio-economic issues, and ethnic morality studies. Homo-sapiens can clone animals, and have a map of the human Genome Stations in space, transglobal communications, disoriented youth, disoriented elders... are now all realities And it hits me...again, this time like an electric freight train with no brakes. I canít feel my arms, I donít remember to eat sometimes. And together we hurt so much. Guilt can be quite maddening. More of them come now: sitcoms, daytime television, soap operas, docudramas, and the Tele-tubies. More information, from all sorts of different information age devices and corporate media schemes. In this authorís humble opinion: the molestation of the Earth and the continued moral decay of the human race, contrast the glory of human achievement in such a way that the void left between the two leaves little left to say but can be compared to flowers next to a grave. I donít have much left with me, except the numbness. With this absence of feeling, all I can do to help me remember that Iím alive is smoke pot an wack-off to internet porn. But I know which side Iím on. "And the truth hurts because you can't hide from the truth. And the truth hurts because the truth is all there is." ~The Handsome Boy Modeling School
